NESA Awards 2017

It has been a another fantastic year for the North East Sports Academies at Tyne Metropolitan College and we once again honoured those learners who excelled both on the pitch and in the classroom on Wednesday 3rd May. Every side competing under the NESA banner had two awards up for grabs, the Student of the Year was awarded to the individual who showed the most progress in his or her academic studies while the Player of the Year award went to the best on-field performer.

The awards were once again fantastically hosted by Andy Sixsmith, with special guests including Vincent Rennie of the Newcastle Thunder, Simon Hammersley of the Newcastle Falcons, Sam Blake of the Newcastle Eagles, Steven Rawlingson from Samuel Knight International and Liam Atkin of the Newcastle United Foundation.

We’d also like to thank both John Spence Community High School and Marden High School for their attendance at the event which saw Jessica Brown and Libby Hall pick up the prestigious Athlete of the Future Awards.
